GENDER BASED VIOLENCE HAS NO PLACE IN THE MODERN WORLD
Let’s join hands to weed out gender based violence.
Gender based violence has been taking center stage of many discourses in different spheres of life.
In the recent times and even now there are many victims of gender based violence and the perpetrators of these shameful acts are still walking free.
Gender based violence is often viewed as violence against women alone but the male gender is also a victim of gender based violence.
As a country we have lost young promising citizens due to gender based violence.
People, mostly women tend to stay in toxic relationships with a hope that maybe one day their spouse will change but then end up being beaten, stabbed and even worse being killed.
Gender based violence should be a fight that involves all the societal members including the youth who are also mostly the victims or perpetrators.
This tells us that gender based violence is a monster that knows no boundary, tribe, color, economic welfare or even academic level.
This monster called gender based violence is out on a mission to wipe out the young promising youth who have also been held captive in love triangles.
In order to weed out gender based violence in our society, we should involve all the stakeholders in our society; the youth included.
The youth form an integral part of any society and hence hold the future of the society.
There are government agencies that are working around the clock in order to root out gender based violence.
The United Nations High Commission for Refugees (UNHCR) is also taking huge steps in ensuring that we have a society free of violence based on gender.
The agency protects the victims and refugees against gender based violence as well as creating awareness on gender based violence.
Staying in toxic relationships should not be an option to anyone because staying in a toxic relationship increases the chances of violence in that relationship.
